The Kingdom of Heaven

Why is it we don’t fear birth? Seems a silly question. Maybe a better question is why do we not fear anything before birth? It may come up in a philosophical conversation, of what, if anything, is prior to birth. All eyes are on death and what, if anything, exists after. The great unknown that grips humanity with uncertainty. Sold to the highest bidder, Heaven awaits the righteous, and the rest, well, let’s not go there. Driven like cattle we are to welcome imagined goodness or avoid the unthinkable hell that awaits the sinful soul.

Someone once said let him who has not taken a wrong turn, cast the first stone (more or less). Oh, we love our righteous and damned. You are either one or the other, as they say. One can not doubt our power to imagine and create. That same someone said “The Kingdom of Heaven is amongst you”. Wait a minute now. The Kingdom of Heaven is there for the chosen, after death. Future holds the glory for the righteous. If I make myself pure enough and walk the path of forgiveness, I shall be granted worthy of Heaven.

But of course, only after death will you know the Kingdom of Heaven or hell for that matter. That way of thinking goes against his core message for everyone. First find the Kingdom, he say’s. Nope that’s not going to fit. Heaven can’t be here. No, absolutely not. It can only be my payment for cleaning myself of the horrible nature I am. Unworthy am I, And only through Gods grace, could I hope to glimpse worthiness for Heaven. Violins play to the sad reality we create for ourselves here.

How in the world could we come up with such a ridiculous idea that we are somehow unworthy? Certainly not from one that taught only love and light. How could we stray so far from a teaching that called for kindness and equality? One that knows the Kingdom is here now and so is hell. What could determine these polar opposites? Quite simply your feeling within creates your entire world of experience. What determines the difference? Ignorance creates the kingdom of hell. Self condemnation created by childhood trauma carries the conviction of “unworthy”.

Held out for the world to reflect this dire assessment. We torcher ourselves in hopes of somehow getting it right. We externalize this insane concept in every way possible. The poor, the wretched and the unworthy. We shine the light on others in hopes they won’t see, I have no light. All out of shear ignorance “They know not what they do”.

What could be the answer to such a horrid and dismal existence? “The Kingdom within”. Well, that’s all nice and everything but what does it mean, and more importantly, how can I get there? And now I’ll say something that’s been echoed through out history. You can’t get there because you are there already. I know, that’s not satisfying at all and might even be a little insulting. The fact is the Kingdom of Heaven within is just unseen through the protective layer put in place for survival.

An automatic defense mechanism to shield innocence from the impact of judgement. Put in place out of shear survival. Surely you can’t doubt the innocence of a child. Then why or how could that change? The fact is, it doesn’t. We only believe it does. There is one fundamental law that governs our experience. We can only create the essence of what we think we are or more accurate, what we feel we are. Once the wheel of ignorance begins to turn, the light of our true essence fades into the back ground. Never could it go out and change in any way but it can become unknown. All darkness is projected from this place of ignorance. The greatest of which is physical death. The master piece of the condemned. And what could give it more power than the promise of Heaven or the imprisonment of hell. All brought about from the idea of worthiness.

Who makes this decision? It’s already been made! What! Now wait a minute, I didn’t get a chance to explain myself. Exactly, you hit the nail on the head. This decision was made by an innocent child out of ignorance to survive, before any reasoning or understanding developed. Oh no, your not selling me that. I know there is a judge called God that makes those decisions. There you have it. What? There I have what? The power you wield to create, is God…

Ok, hold on a minute while I dial the psych ward. While your doing that, think about this. Words from one of our greatest teachers. “It’s the Father within me that does the works”. He didn’t come here to proclaim his specialness. His teaching is one of equality, love and acceptance of ones own Truth. Whether you choose to see it, is your own free will. There is no judgement outside of your own. Love surrounds us, waiting for the chance to come in. Open to loving kindness within and you will know the Truth and it will set you free. And so the prodigal Son returns…
