The sweet sting of darkness

One thing I think we can all agree on. Depression and negativity suck! Nothing zaps your mojo like darkness gripping your thoughts. Like trudging through mud, it drains you and clouds your sense of direction. It can quite literally paralyze you in a fear spiral, lasting hours, even days. For some it becomes so intense, they opt out of life entirely. The mind has tremendous imaginative ability. It can assist in great works of art that have timeless inspiration. The interesting thing is, great art is often channeled from a dark place. I can promise you the great artists of history and present day create with passion, infused with emotions.

Look at some of the greatest musicians. They burned their flame so bright, their light went out. Like a flash of brilliant light seen round the world, they lit the sky for a brief moment in time. Bitter sweet is the life of super stardom. We don’t have to take the direction of super stardom to learn something important from them. Find an outlet for your emotions. While they dwell within you, they reap all kinds of havoc. They take your energy more so than anything else could. They torcher your body to the point of disease and even death. It’s the minds natural ability to imagine, that creates the greatest inspired art. But it can also create hell on earth.

You only have to know this. Find an outlet. What ever works for you. Just let it out. There is this strange thing about a dark place. It has this lure to stay in it. I’ll just lay hear for a bit. Next thing, six hours go by and it’s time to go to bed. But not before the mind generously gives you a little extra boost of unworthiness. Taking a productive step to funnel your emotions into a release of some kind, is very often the hardest part. It’s almost like we don’t want to feel better. I will stay away from the depths of why that is, just to encourage you to become aware. Aware that if you truly want to feel better. A little change like getting into a routine of funneling emotions into a heartfelt direction, can make a huge difference.

More than anything though. Come to know, there is really nothing more normal in human experience than emotional suffering. It’s a vibrant field of experience, the human ability to feel emotions so extreme. It can soar to the highest high, with equal ability to dive into the fire. It’s a tricky vessel to balance, and it doesn’t exactly come with a set of directions. We all have to find our way the best we can. Just know, the feeling of being alone and overwhelmed are a symptom of holding in the natural flow of energy. Positive energy, you naturally allow it to flow out, feeling a sense of acceptance within. With darkness there is a natural tendency to contract and keep it hidden. Of course, you don’t want to exaggerate the feeling of unworthiness that you already have. Keeping it seems the best coarse of action.

There is a necessary willingness that needs to be present in order for real change to take hold. You have to come to a place where you have had enough. And this cry for freedom will create new pathways to real change. It’s a process that will present tough choices and difficult experiences. Your greatest ally is, a true willingness to follow your heart. To give yourself the most important gift of your life. Kindness. Know deep within, you are far more than the play of emotions. The surface can be a messy place. The first step to your wealth within is, kindness. The mind will want to revert back to the old. Don’t sweep it under the rug. Find a heart felt release, a hobby, an occupational direction, or artistic expression. Your heart knows the way home. The discovery that awaits you within will color your whole life with your own beauty. Seen from the contrast of a darkened life path, your light will illuminate a world only Heaven knows…
