Future tales

Mapping out events to come with imagination is tricky business. If it’s seen to be a good thing it will bring feelings to match. But as you know there is another side to that coin. Either way, it comes as it comes and rarely does it match imagination. I have found that past trauma and conditioning to be a difficult experience to let go of. Letting go of the habitual desire to know future outcomes, also proves to have a certain momentum. There is nothing like the feeling of having all your ducks in a row. Everything planned, giving a level of ease and safety with your next steps. Not so easy when your next steps have no past to compare to. Here is where trust meets reality. And the reality of life is, your future will meet you with your past luggage you carry in present moment reflection.

A change in your experience within isn’t going to solidify your outer experience immediately. It takes time. How much time depends on how willing you are to let go. A sudden shift may come and turn your world around and upside down. It will still take time for life to reflect your inner shift. It’s during this time period that it will seem life is testing your resolve. In truth, if there is a real change in your depths your thoughts about it won’t make any difference in the big picture. They can however make a difference in how you feel while stepping into the unknown. Again it takes time, not just for life to reflect, but for old mind patterns to let go and flow with trust. With any change there is a period of adjustment, and here is a key insight that will bring a feeling of ease if fully realized.

When I say life will reflect your inner state of being, there is an important thing to note. Any and all experiences you perceive is a reflection, and that includes thought. Yes, this is very easily missed because it’s such an intimate part of our experience we don’t realize it’s not part of our true essence, it just reflects it. In this time of transition it’s very easy to get caught up in the tailwind of old habits and give thought more importance than it has. It can be helpful to know for example, just because you overcome a dysfunctional fear of spiders, doesn’t mean you are comfortable with them crawling on you. So as the thoughts come, know it takes time for thought to take a true position. As you take more steps, the foundation solidifies in your experience. Kind of like moving into a new house, it takes time before it feels like home.

In essence, for real life change, there is a positional awareness that changes. In normal life we are conditioned to have a sense of our “self” consuming our awareness with thoughts reflecting beliefs from life experience. Coming to the awareness of our true essence, this thought wheel slows and even stops. With all past conditioning and trauma released, awareness fills your life with clarity having no false identity to filter through. Authenticity now rules your world standing on a true foundation. This doesn’t mean perfection. You may have released your inner child from self condemnation, but there is still a child that’s growing up and it takes time. Be kind and patient. Living from an open heart will meet some challenges. But at least now you are living free and experiencing life to its fullest. Coming to know this freedom within, is life’s greatest blessing…
