Why would something like this be a surprise? Simply because Love is equated with soft and warm sentiment. Could it be we really don’t understand that Love does what’s best, not what’s easiest. Let’s face it, if we had an easy road, would it be our best road? Guess what? No matter what road you take you will find difficulty. I think we can all agree with that. Basically though, you really only have two choices. Follow your heart or follow your fear.
Which one are you following? It’s easy to tell. All you have to do is look at what you feel when you do it. If you feel you need to do it or else. Then you are following your fear. But if you feel purpose driven and inspired, you are following your heart. Here’s the real kicker. Following fear holds you in it’s grip and you will be small and unsatisfied. Where as your heart will take you as far as you are willing to follow it. And you will feel motivated and driven. Even better you will be supported by life. Why? Because you are saying I love this and it’s all I want. Life is Love in the greater sense. It’s what creates everything. It makes the world go around, but it will also give you the freedom to be small and fearful. The reality is, it will support you with what ever you ask.
In fear, you will live out your days afraid of life, therefore you won’t truly live. If survival is all you care about in life. Love will grant you the need for it. Because that is what you are asking for. You are saying with your fearful heart, I am afraid I need protection. In turn life will give you the need for protection. Is this hitting home at all? Because in Truth life isn’t bothered either way. You see there is no need for fear unless you believe there is. This will create a thousand thoughts of why that statement is incorrect if you live in fear. But if you are inspired and follow your heart, you don’t think of consequences, you think of your creation.
It’s really just a simple question of how you want to live. If you want freedom from fear, follow your heart. No one said it would be easy. The world is full of examples of people that followed there heart and they inspire the world. One thing you won’t hear any of them say is, it was easy. But what you will hear them say is, it was worth it. You don’t have to become world famous to feel that worth in following your heart. It’s payment enough. There’s really nothing like achieving success in something you love doing. You’ve heard the saying, “do something you love and you won’t work a day in your life”.
We are all given a unique ability of some kind. It’s just a matter of giving yourself openness to find it. Fear closes you, it contracts you. You lose the intuitive sense of direction. And once it has you, you see fearful thing’s everywhere. The next thing you know, you’ve reached old age, and what did you do? You survived. But did you? Did you somehow live a better life? Or did you just spend your whole life avoiding death, or at least the thought of it. That’s all fear amounts to is a fear of death. Failure is seen as death. Death of your reputation, death of your finances, or here’s the one that imprisons most, death of comfort.
The need for comfort, stands in the way of a fulfilling life. No inspired work is without it’s discomfort. But it does glow with beauty and enjoyment. If you want to play, you have to pay. That’s just the way it is. With good reason, very good reason. If it were easy, you wouldn’t appreciate it, plain and simple. We all want easy, but it’s not. Have you ever seen someone that was good at something and they didn’t like doing it or they just wouldn’t push themselves. You might think, wow if I was that good I would be ecstatic. And there you have the whole thing, spelled out. If it’s easy, it’s unsatisfying.
Easy life = unfulfilling and meaningless. Following inspiration = challenging, enjoyment of creation. Hide behind your fears or fill yourself with purpose and reach for the stars. Each of us has a star to reach for. Why not give it a try. Open up to possibility and watch your life fill with beauty. Life is not about survival, it’s about creating. The world is your ouster, but it can also be your prison. Always it’s up to you. But when you stand at the end of the road, what do you want to see in the rear view? A straight line or a Picasso? The fact is, life is difficult. Would you rather strive for comfort and feel unfulfilled, or take a chance at a homerun? Warm the bench or shoot for the stars? It’s your life, you get one run. Run for home, which is where the heart is, or run from it and feel that cold hard truth. I wish I would have followed my heart and swung for the fence…
