Perception makes sense

Could it be that we have misused our perceptual ability? Taken it down the wrong road? Is it possible that we got it all wrong, like a bird using its wings to walk? I say, without a doubt. And in that statement lies the evidence spelled out. When we use perception as our guide, we are constantly uprooted and it leads to a sense of doubt. How many times in a day do we make an assumption and it plays out differently? A lot, if we are honest with ourselves. Continuously life shows us perception isn’t for guidance, it’s for sensing and fullness of experience.

This is a tough sale for most, simply because we have been conditioned so completely to use perception as a judgment. Who could doubt its effectiveness in keeping your hands out of the fire. Is perception truly what keeps us away from danger, or is there something else at play? Well, again I say, we don’t exactly come with directions. For sure I can say there is much more to us than meets the eye. And it’s this very fact that allows for discovery. We have a far more graceful, and productive way to move through life. Intuition. Intuitive guidance is how true alignment is kept in check. It’s something we already use to some extent, but not nearly to its potential.

It’s a muscle that needs a lot of exercise to develop. It requires an effort to let go of perception as a guide. Not easy, would be an understatement. We are so loyal to it for one reason. Safety. Safety rules the day and quite convincingly. Yet, time and time again, perception lets us down. Why? Simply because it covers an extremely small snapshot of life. It’s like trying to navigate through busy city streets, looking through a straw. Just a tiny glimpse and we take it as wisdom. Then life spits you out to try again. Things just don’t seem to work out. Do we even know what life working out looks like? How many times have you gone in a direction with full intention and have it take a turn and work out much better than planned?

Perception would be far more accurate for its use, if it were called sensing. It’s for our depth and enjoyment of experience, not for guidance. Having said that, it takes time to develop intuitive skills. Trust is the main ingredient, and the rest, life gives you a very clear message of truth. Once you have reached a level of trust, you will see it in action, and you will be amazed. When you start to allow life to give you its bounty, it continues to strengthen your intuitive muscle. Soon it won’t be perception that leads you, but energy. You will come to be very sensitive to the energetic world and move with it. You will just intuitively know where to go and when.

Beyond your ability to know, lies an overwhelming out pour for your best interest. But you have to be willing to step into the world of the unknown to release its good will for you. We are divinely connected to a much higher awareness, if we open the door. Just start by cultivating a feeling of safety. Baby steps, and a little faith and your on your way. Oh, and of course you need to hold a good feeling toward yourself, first and foremost. If not, you will be intuitively guided to find a reflection of that ill feeling within. You are always going to be the initiating force for your life experience. Now with a good feeling within, you can flow with life knowing it has your back…
